| I have an autoimmune disease that is managed with JAK inhibitors. I can still get a strep test or chest X-ray, and prescriptions at urgent care. If you're on any type of medication for a managed illness, you typically know what meds you can and cannot take. I don't need my doctor who knows my "history" to prescribe me basic meds for bronchitis. |
I really don't need to be glib here, but why do you need to see a doctor for these symptoms? They're right -- test and see if it's flu or Covid or whatever, but at this stage you've probably had it for a while so Tamiflu or Paxlovid aren't going to help you. And if you have something like bronchitis or pneumonia (it's more likely pleurisy), then, yeah, urgent care can probably handle you more quickly and write you an Rx for antibiotics. |
| I was making an appointment for my doctor. The online form asked if I have had a cough or fever in the last few days. The earliest appointment is in April. |
My mom has a rare chronic condition that most doctors don't know about. She is not a pharmacist and does not know about specific interactions or issues with medication. |
Exactly! How arrogant to assume that you know about all of the interactions. |
