What's the top age for an EMT? I don't think I would qualify due to hearing loss but others can. I believe it's 2 yrs at community college?

All of the government haters didn’t appreciate that many of us were doing things that were designed to help those suffering. There weee plenty of things wrong with the previous administration but they had a lot of agenda and budget items designed to shore up!the safety net and improve services.

For those who have lost work, you may need to take a temporary service job to keep some money coming in while you sort out your future plans. Join the class action lawsuits that are popping up. For some of you, the firings will not be permanent.

Feds have been whining for weeks now about how little they make. Yet when given everyday jobs that are similar pay they turn their nose up at the ideas. This is why people don’t respect you anymore.

It requires licensure. And even if you do an alternative route program, it’s going to take some time. You need special ed credits, reading credits, Praxis scores (or the equivalent), student teaching experience or time with a mentor, etc. And after all that, you need to survive your first classroom on your own.

Exactly. You can’t walk into teaching, so let’s stop telling people they can.

And there are multiple praxis exams. Some have a 40% pass rate.

The praxis exams are easy. The poor pass rate is related to the group that tends to take them.

People I know who've changed careers into teaching found meeting the requirements super easy. It's the actual teaching part that's hard.

Check out your local community college for certificate programs in medical, one of my employees just got her RN degree through our local community college, she was working two jobs while studying.

My commercial painter had an Ivy degree in English

He never shared this with potential clients. It was amazing how many talked down to him.

Let me see. After earning a Ph.D. and and 20 years into a successful career in government contracting, I can work at Costco during the day which won't pay my bills (including the childcare I will need to work at Costco), get a nursing degree at night, and then be a nurse for half of what I currently make. Sounds great.

That is not starting salary. New hires I think it is something around $20 an hour. $30/hr you have to be there awhile.
