“Obama Did Not Want Her"

Anonymous
I honestly do not understand how any Democrat could hate Obama. He’s the most successful Democratic president since FDR.

If this Obama hates is a prevalent view among Democrats then the party is going to be in the wilderness for a long time. This how I know that

The fact of the matter is the voters didn't want her at the top of the ticket in 2020 and she did nothing to change her image in the last four years. I believe Biden threw his weight behind her spitefully in retaliation for being pushed out because he knew she couldnt win.

It was hysterical how Biden kept trying to undermine her. He was mad, and I don't blame him. After she lost he looked happy as can be. He still has the distinction of being the only one to beat Trump. He got the last laugh on Pelosi, Obama, and Clooney.

I did giggle when Biden wore the MAGA hat. It was pretty clear he was not a Harris fan. I so wish there had been a primary. There were plenty of good candidates among those who likely have presidential aspirations.

Do you blame him? He had a palace coup pulled on him. He’s got every right to be bitter. He should’ve had the chance to run, like any incumbent president should’ve had, and win or lose on his own.

I don’t like Biden, but I’m furious for how he was disrespected by his party.

Np oh please. Spare us. You could care less about how Biden was treated.

This whole thread is like salt in an open wound. Why are you people happy with your victory? Why do you have to grind us down?

You project your own hate onto me.

No, I don’t like Joe Biden, but I can also not like what was done to him by your party. That race should’ve been his to run, win or lose. Getting forced out because the Dems thought he was too old or senile to run - but NOT too old or senile to *remain in office*. Shameful. Your party is nest of scoundrels.

As for Trump? Meh. He wasn’t my first choice in 2016 or in 2024. But he was the right choice, and I was wrong both times. I’m big enough to admit that, too. He IS the best candidate. I’m ashamed I didn’t see it sooner.

Bit think about this: Trump broke Hillary. Trump broke Biden. Then Trump broke Kamala. He’s like a rock protruding up from the sea floor that sinks the ships of democrat dreams, over and over again.

He’s an unstoppable force in American politics.

MAGA.

Babe, he’s not just sinking the dem’s ships, he’s about to wreck the economy now.

Look at young men - they've been absolutely primed by podcasts and social media to be anti-woman. The current media absorbed by young men is horrifically toxic; it's a lot worse than 15 years ago when I was in my 20s. Conservative Inc built a better mouse trap for capturing these young male minds.

Democrats could've blunted this advantage with a white male POTUS candidate. Obama knew the time was not right for a Harris presidency, given how young men are trending the historic unpopularity of the Biden administration. The well was poisoned.

The cards just were not in her favor.

The most qualified candidate of the last 100 years was a white woman. And still lost. Racism and sexism is ruining this country. They right supported a rapist and convicted felon. They no longer have a moral ground to stand on.

Most qualified doesn't win the presidency or we would had a series of white male policy wonks. The presidency is a sales job and neither Hillary Clinton nor Kamala Harris are sales people. As Barack Obama told Hillary Clinton: "You're likable enough, Hillary." "Enough" is not good enough to become president.

Being a policy wonk does not qualify you to be President. You contradict yourself.

Their favorability ratings — especially Michelle’s. People genuinely like her.

I understand that, but she’s not a politician, has never been elected to any position, and has turned down the presidency several times.

Also: how does being married to a former president equal being qualified to be president?

First Hillary, now Michelle; two former First Ladies who are qualified to be president based on their marriages.

Hillary is Yale law, senator, Sec of state---she's more qualified to be president than 90%+
of our presidents.

Michelle is Harvard Law, social activist, all she is missing is running for senator or governor first. She doesn't want to be president. But if she held one elected position, she would be highly qualified. More qualified than Trump ever was/is.

Why is it always the credentialism (schools, job titles) and never the achievements or personal qualities for these women? Not a good sign.

I wouldn't call the Obamas grifters. Trump is a grifter due to his NFT-type stunts. The Obamas are vicious liars, though, and people who don't understand how much the media covered for the lying Obamas will never understand how awful it was to listen to support for that man for eight years.

lol. They own several 10-figure mansions in the most exclusive enclaves in America. They fly private everywhere. They hobnob with billionaire elites. They peddle books, podcasts, and documentaries nobody watches or listens to, and now, even sugar water at Walmart. They are phony and shameless money-grabbing grifters. And Barack’s shtick is laughably out of touch and corny at this point. Black Americans are not rocking with him anymore.

Oh, please. Obama rose to the highest post in world with all odds against him. You can’t possibly call him a grifter for capitalizing on this after the fact. What is he supposed to do? Go back to community organizing? And, Black Americans are still “rocking” with him. I know I am.

No, they really are not. Not when it counts. He's a cornball that has no juice except maybe with the athlete/celebrity crowd, which is his ilk anyway.

You can be liked but not influential to the point of being able to change minds. I still think Obama is popular enough to win if he could run again . That doesn't mean people will blindly follow him to vote for Harris when she has clear huge red flags as a candidate.

No he isn't. If he weren't black, he would be a blip in history. Two or three good speeches ever, some marginal shift in health policy and killing bin Laden...a pretty thin resume.

I don't believe for one second that you care at all about any of the Democratic leaders. And that is totally fine! You won. You should be focused on winning rather than pretending to care about what the Democrats should or shouldn't have done. It is over. It does not matter. And honestly, you are projecting YOUR hatred onto me. I hate what America will come under Trump. But, there is nothing to do but sit back and hope we all don't suffer for your foolish choice.

America First is the wisest choice. There is no doubt that God spared Trumps life. Everybody saw a miracle happen. After that, the election was over.

I really do think this, also.

It's not about being liked, it's about being respected. His credibility and "authority", to the extent he ever had much, are diminished.

Well, to be fair, Obama did not send Japanese Americans to concentration camps and create FHA so that neighborhoods could remain racially segregated.

If it weren't for woman at the CIA tracking bin Laden for years, Barack Hussein Obama could never had even done that. The women told the Navy seals where to find him, and they killed him. Big whoop for Obama.

This isn't true. Don't take away his accomplishments. Millions of people getting healthcare is not a marginal shift.

Biden did more in one term than Obama did in two. Clinton accomplished much more than Obama. Obama looks great compared to Bush and Trump but Nancy Pelosi is the Democrat who has accomplished the most in this century. The main legislative accomplishments of each of the past 4 Presidents were signing the bills that Pelosi negotiated.

I don't believe the OP for a second.

My take on this is that Obama doesn't believe she's not suitable for the role it's that she's not electable by the US population.
Just like Hillary was more than qualified for the position as is Harris. If this country was not ready to elect a white female for president they sure as f*** weren't going to elect a black female for president.
