I’d ignore. You aren’t required to send a water bottle with her specifications and snacks daily. Send what you think your kid needs, as long as it isn’t harmful to others (nuts in a nut free class, etc)

I cannot imagine any teacher has nothing better to do than send emails about water bottles and snack specifications. They can’t require you bring in something specific. They can hardly even require you send in a kid that isn’t sick, wears/brings weather appropriate clothing, and has school supplies.

As it gets hotter on the playgrounds the kids should have water bottles with them. There are articles about slides burning kids and schools needing air con that historically never needed it before. The world is just getting hotter and schools usually don’t have shade in the playground.
It turns out that “123 that’s enough for me” we had kids chant at the water fountain is not enough water for a kid during our hot summers.

Eh, I lived in a place much hotter than here and remember those "123 that's enough for me" days. If kids are drinking during meals and outside of school, they don't need to bring a water bottle around because of the heat.

Many kids are more comfortable having access to water during the day, and that's enough of a reason to say that things should change.

I’m sure the teacher just said, “ask your mom if you want a water bottle.” The Mom needs to draw the line for the kid. If you can’t do that OP, don’t go against the grain and not have a water bottle.
