It was not dismissed. It was settled for $300,000: https://montgomeryperspective.com/2024/05/24/mcps-settles-with-jane-doe-for-300000/

That's actually a lot less of a settlement than I thought she'd get so MCPS lucked out.

She should have gotten $1.3 million dollars.

Not for a teacher that sent nude pics

He was the supervisor. She should have gotten $1.3 million dollars.

she is an adult
she knew better
she in no way deserved that much

Joel Beidleman is a predator. It's a fact proven in court.

That's false. A bunch of anonymous complaints don't count as proof.

You are pathetic Joel. A petty tyrant and predator with an alcohol problem.

As far as I could tell the only person that came forward was the one sexting him nude pics. The rest of the complaints weren't credible.

Joel has a track record of sexual misconduct in the workplace. Why do you think he is divorced? Ask his ex wife.

Beidleman is a symptom of the rot in MCPS. He was able to stay and get promoted despite a deluge of legitimate and credible complaints about him, because he's Black and because he's a man. In the women's world of teaching, and in MCPS which prides itself on hiring Black candidates to higher offices, he was untouchable until his accumulated crimes crossed a line even MCPS couldn't overlook.

I'm relieved that there IS a line, but I'm outraged that the line is so far away from common decency, and caused years-long distress and harm to staff who reported to him.

This woman should have received a much higher settlement. I can only hope that more women will come out and file lawsuits against him.

There is no line internally at MCPS. They have no sense of decency organizationally. The only time MCPS reacts is if she reaches the media or lawsuit status. If Beidleman’s story had no reached the Post, he would still be principal of Paint Branch and everything would be business as usual.

The wagons at MCPS are permanently organized in a circle. They protect their own and bristle at any and all criticism, as if they are beyond reproach. It’s an attitude of superiority and privilege and it is killing this school system.

Without the Washington Post, he is still a high school principal.

The line is the Washington Post apparently.

I'm surprise that there aren't more victims suing MCPS.

Their lawyer just need to threaten to put MCPS officials on the stand, and they will win settlement.

Are we talking about the same article? It seemed like a bunch of gossip more than hard evidence.

Must be part of the Beidleman concubine. How does a five foot black man get this much attention. So pathetic.

We don’t trust MCPS to follow confidentiality laws. Everyone knows everyone’s business and you still get blacklisted for having boundaries and sticking up for yourself. Just look at how some people have been treated during involuntary transfer season. Individual schools have too much power and the many positions at Co that are supposed to oversee them have a carousel of changing personnel.

More victims are coming forward.

Sounds like they settled rather than go to deposition. Quite common in civil court cases.
