Dexter is not tall, dark, and handsome. I found men like Rob Lowe and Pierce Brosnan to be handsome. Emma is beautiful. They aren't mismatched. They're obviously different ethnicity. She looks like her family of origin is from India. They both sound like they were born and raised in the UK.

I’m Asian American and it is a known fact that many white guys will take or marry Asian girls who other Asian people do not find attractive. You will see an attractive white guy with an ugly Asian girl. Asian guys would crack jokes about this when we were younger. Just at my child’s school there are a few couples where Asian woman is not attractive. Of course there are the normal looking and pretty ones.

Sandra Oh is one example of an Asian woman no Asian people consider pretty. She was linked with hot cardiac surgeon Preston on Grey’s Anatomy.

I am an average looking south Asian woman. I too have a slightly asymmetrical face and a long crooked nose. I live in the United States so I have never met the beauty standard of the small nosed woman.

That being said, I’ve never had a problem finding dates. I’ve exclusively dated white men. Many of whom have been conventionally attractive. My current husband looks like Johnny Depp but he isn’t a rich popular guy. He was a quiet nerdy guy and we connected on books and literature. As we age, I am the “hotter” spouse as I do a lot of self care.

This Emma character is below average looking for a normal person. That’s why she is getting a lot of negative attention.

I would say Kendall Jenner and Gigi hadid are the supermodels of today.

She’s obviously attractive to a whole bunch of guys posting, so it’s just factually wrong to say she’s not. It’s like saying there aren’t any flies on dog doo when they’re obviously there.

I think that people who are criticizing her looks are trying to act as gatekeepers to keep women who don’t have certain conventional pretty faces from claiming attractive men. That’s the problem with merely pretty: it’s never truly beautiful.

The ugly can be beautiful. The pretty, never.
