The sycophants have arrived. |

Reading this makes me wonder how the BOE could possibly still have trust and confidence in her. |
The BOE can’t say the teachers and principals didn’t warn them. They chose to bury their heads in the sand then, and it’s why they’re in the situation they’re in now. There’s a sad disconnect between educators’ lived experience and what the Board seems to be aware of. |
We do. I’ve spoken to many news outlets and you’ll never know my name because I’m not attention seeking. It’s entirely possible to help without sensationalizing yourself. She not only seeks attention, she looks absolutely insane every time she opens her mouth, undermining the actual work that needs to be done. |

Does anyone really think that these people would put their jobs on the line for an everyday Principal. Beidleman was not some super special principal that they would lie or cover up for. You guys sound nuts. |
He was either protected because he had strategic relationships higher up or because the system is so broken that the oversight mechanisms failed. It’s one or the other. |
Or the oversight mechanisms didn't even exist in the first place, and nobody noticed or cared. |
*sigh* The investigation summary report already says that the policies and procedures there WERE in place, weren't followed. And yes, there was some areas were there wasn't a clear or formal process in place, such as escalating whether a candidate was under investigation while simultaneously being considered for promotion, didn't exist. But it's clear, according to BOE President Silvestre, that there were serious failing by several people in MCPS leadership and oversight. So I don't know why you're feigning otherwise. |
That's what I was referring to. Why so hostile? |
The fact that a formal policy wasn’t in place is not because of some failing of the system. But rather that no one thought it would be necessary to spell out such a scenario because no one could have fathomed that the people in charge of the school system would knowingly look the other way and put forth a candidate for promotion without doing the due diligence to inquire and understand that the nature of any investigations he or she might be under would not undermine the integrity of the school system. Sort of like how we don’t have a formal rule in our constitution or laws barring someone who has been found guilty of attempts at insurrection for running for president. These “gaps” in formal rules and protocols only failed in that they never imagined we’d had such piss poor leadership and moral failings. |
These problems in MCPS are not new problems. MCPS staff have a long history of ignoring complaints of sexual harassment and bullying. The Washington Post reported that complaints about Beidleman stretches for 6 years. This raises concerns about training investigators have and the willingness of MCPS to ignore complaints. |
The fact no one filed formal complaint is mind boggling. Wouldn’t these educators take the proper steps to file complaints? Yet now they are screaming that mcps officials didn’t take proper steps before deciding to promote him. So who is really at fault here? It seems EVERYONE including the so called victims that didn’t file formal complaints. Even in the judicial system you can’t just go up to a judge and say someone harassed me. You have to follow judicial protocol. This is mind boggling that you all expect mcps to follow protocols based off of informal complaints. |
