Pros and cons of a screened porch

Screened porch is just for like… sitting.

Maybe you have only been in tiny screened in porches? I do yoga in mine, we have family dinners, our kids have game night with their friends, we did early puppy training (sit and stay level), I have had PT sessions out there, it’s an extension of our laundry room when we have a lot of clothes to hang on drying racks, and more. During COVID, I would work out there with my kids while they studied. That porch saved my sanity.

What would you say is “not tiny”?

Were any PPs able to add the screened in portion on a pre-existing deck? We had a design build company at the house today for some other projects, and they said that could be an option but they would need to confirm the structure. I didn't know this was a thing.

We were in this situation, slightly bigger house indoors vs the screened in porch. We went with the slightly bigger house and NEVER use the extra space besides maybe once or twice a year when family visit. We ended up spending nearly 70k on a screened porch last spring and have been out there 2-4 times a week for the past year.

The extra rooms inside have turned into storage rooms.

I hope you went with the screened porch!
