What is your honest opinion of those who do not drink alcohol?

It depends on the non-drinker. Some are literally a buzz kill

In my youth…. I laughed at the thought of the Women’s Temperance Union as a bunch of uptight prudes. It took an embarrassing number of years to realize the connection to domestic abuse. I’m fine if you don’t drink. I respect it.

I hope my friends don't go around judging me behind my back! Do you realize some don't drink due to being a recovering alcoholic? It's sometimes a difficult conversation to have with those individuals.

Because someone once told me it’s best I don’t attend happy hour because I would negatively change the vibe

I attend Happy Hour, don’t drink, but it matters to no one.

I don’t mind at all, but if I’m with someone in recovery I won’t drink myself. Just doesn’t seem right to me.

I'm not a teetotaler but I don't drink as much anymore because since having a baby my tolerance is pretty much nil so I'm now one of those people who'd fall asleep after one glass of wine. So I'd rather not.

So are some drinkers (well, figuratively in their case). Alcohol is not the common thread.

I think it depends on what the OP means by do not drink. Simply sip a non-alcoholic drink, this should impact no one. Make a big deal out of not drinking or lecturing others, then it effects everyone.

I don't care.
If you forced me to have like a snap judgment: People who never in their life drink are fairly wholesome, usually slightly boring on average -- but good people. But if someone tells me they gave up or quit, I assume they had an abuse issue and it's slightly awkward (for me) to be around them or invite them into a setting with alcohol.

Not saying folks have to drink a lot. But someone who at a wedding won’t take a sip of Champaign at the toast has a mental or medical disorder

Wow. Judgey much?

I go through phases where I don't drink and it has never been questioned. I still get invited out and I really haven't heard any negative comments.

I don't like alcohol because I don't like the taste. If I have to drink an alcoholic drink I prefer something sweet like a Piña Colada. Something that is sweet, fruity, tropical and tastes very, very good.

Another thing is that I like to eat. So I value great appetizers and finger foods over getting my calories from drinks (unless a super tasty Piña Colada)...

Unfortunately, true.

NP. But the question was what do you really think. So the PP posted honestly. This isn't about trying to convince you to drink.
