| I actually find it underhanded. |
| How so? It's not a holiday. |
How? If so, then the plot dates back decades. I attended a nominally religious LAC and we were not dismissed on Good Friday till noon. |
| DC's college is off for Cesar Chavez day but not Good Friday, which I endorse. |
| The country isn’t Catholic |
| Why would it be a holiday? |
| I work on Good Friday. The only reason elementary, middle and high school have it off is because of spring break. College kids have spring break earlier. |
| Go to a Catholic College. Notre Dame has it off. |
Even Catholic schools don't take Good Friday off. |
| Underhanded how? |
| I don't see you getting indignant over Jewish holidays, OP. |
| I graduated from college 30 years ago (gah); we didn’t have any holidays off besides Thanksgiving. |
Jew here — yep! We ALWAYS have to take off for Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah, Pesach … you don’t hear us complaining, because we get that the USA isn’t a Jewish country. We deal. The Muslims do the same. Why do you need to be the one complaining? |
| Christian here and we celebrate Good Friday...not Catholic btw, it's not a Catholic holiday. We've always had to work and I don't think it's odd in the least. For families wanting to celebrate the Easter weekend it might make travelling more difficult, but I don't feel like we're "due" a day off. |
It must be working, because I have no idea what they might be trying to hide with this underhanded scheme. |
