ovulation pain days prior to O?

Anonymous
Yesterday I experienced slight but distinct cramping on one side of my abdomen. I've had the same experience mid-cycle in other months, and always assumed it was ovulation pain. But I wasn't TTC, so I didn't notice the exact timeframe. This time, it was only 9 days after the start of my last period and according to all other signs (OPK, body temp) I have not yet ovulated. Has anyone else experienced these types of cramps days prior to actually ovulating? This is the first month I've charted, so I'm not sure when I ovulate, but my cycle is usually 26 or 28 days, so I wouldn't expect to ovulate for almost another week.

You might want to check with your doctor to see whether you have an ovarian cyst(s). I had similar pains this past month and apparently it was related to a new small cyst on left ovary.

I have had similar dull cramping this month when OPK and temperature say no ovulation yet. I'm hoping its a sign that ovulation is approaching...but that could just be my wishful thinking.

I can feel the pre ovulation swelling. It is more of a full feeling and dull ache, it sometimes causes pain in my hip or lower back.

hmmm. the pain often comes right BEFORE ovulation, so it may be 1-3 days away- but i doubt it's a whole week before... so i'd start TTC now... everyday or every other day... it means Ovul is a comin'...

so funny you have posted this. this is my 3rd month TTC and the eggwhite cervical fluid and cramping all seem to occur on days 9-11/12 and the charts say I ovulate on days 13-15 on average. so, yes I am experiencing the same thing as you.

Funny. I don't have pain, but I spot religiously 2-3 days before O. Nothing heavy, faint brown. I've read that it's normal.

I have been experiencing the same thing but it's actually VERY painfull and causes me to stay in bed for 3 days. US showed no ovarian cyst and doctor doesn't know what causes it. It's usually 5-6 days after last menstrual periods.
