Annual registration fee for daycares

Is it typical to have a large annual registration fee at daycares? Not a one-time fee, but a fee every year you enroll.

Not sure what you think is "large" but ours is $125 and that seemed pretty standard across daycares here in northern va

Yes, at the more quality and high demand preschools. Daycares probably not, but preschools, yes.

Ours has registration fees and various "activity" fees. I don't understand why they can't just have the cost of daycare reflected in the prices they charge. It's honestly more annoying having to write separate checks than if they just charged a fee that represented the cost of the service.

Not usually though Bright Horizons might have had one some time back. Private schools may have a yearly registration fee, which is what I'm dealing with now that my kids are school aged.
