| When is EA coming out? Last Wednesday of this month? |
|
It's always too late to matter. Most of the Virginia schools are the same. Wonder if it's just to keep the HS Seniors working at full throttle as long into the school year as possible.
|
What does this mean? Too late to matter... about what? |
+1 Too late for... what? |
| Even though it's EA, it might as well be RD. |
Well, still better than waiting until April. |
That’s a bit dramatic. It’s not as if they’re releasing April 30th and need a decision the next day. |
I think they mean too late to apply to other schools. But it seemed to me that most of the places my DC applied EA released decisions when it was too late to have many other options for new apps. It's ED that needs to give you an answer in December. And VT does give their ED answers then. But I do agree that VTs timing of EA and RD is kind of ridiculous. It's only a few weeks difference. |
| 45,000+ applications for 6,800 slots. 38k will not get in. Put this in context and don't look for a scapegoat if your kid is one of the 38k. |
Actually, assuming about 30% yield more like 23k will get in. |
How does the "40% URM and first generation" factor into that? |
|
It's harsh. The timing in so unhelpful.
VT is harsh, in so many ways. They just are. |
For what? They don't have to decide until May 1st |
DP. Ideally EA decisions would come out in late December before RD deadlines, but that will never happen for large state schools with 40,000+ applicants. |
