BCC or WJ ?

What is the difference in these two high schools? I can read the stats, but I'm wondering about the school environments, etc. Which would you choose? If anyone here attended either, would you send your kids there or choose another nearby school?

BCC is a much more urban and culturally diverse school with a highly regarded teaching staff and high achieving students. They also have an IB program. I would have no hesitation sending my children there....and plan to actually.

If I had a choice of where to live based on the schools, I would live in the Whitman, Churchill or BCC cluster.

Don't know much about WJ though.

BCC is obviously more urban but I'm not too sure I agree with the diverse commnet. When we were moving here three years ago we looked at BCC, Whitman, Churchill and WJ. As a family we liked BCC and WJ the best. Churchill and Whitman seemed a bit too pampered child/ivory tower for us - especially Whitman. We chose a home in the WJ cluster and have been thrilled. The campus is under renovations and they are coming along beautifully. For us, WJ offers a balance of academics and a more traditional high school experience.

We live in the B-CC district, and I find the school to be diverse because the B-CC cluster takes students not just from Chevy Chase and Bethesda but also from areas in Silver Spring.
