| What do you predict will happen now that Jed was dismissed? |
He’s still suing her in TX and I don’t think she can get out of it 🤣 |
That case will not move forward now. Should have been part of the federal action. Will be dismissed. |
That is not what this case is about. She does not have to establish that. |
That is not a defense to the court case. For PR, sure. But that will never get in. |
There is nothing wrong with hiring the firm. It is what they did after being hired --- that is all the case is about. |
| This case will settle just before trial. Baldoni cannot risk taking this forward. Neither can Lively. Both will claim the win. |
No. He sued her and she filed a MTD because she wanted it transferred to SDNY. Now that he’s been dismissed her MTD is moot. |
Dp, sure it is. It goes to whether his actions were retaliatory or protecting his own reputation from her attacks. Very relevant. |
Agree with this and people have pretty much decided what side they’re on and there will likely be nothing to change that. |
| Most people believe Justin, not Blake. Plantation Princess will be desperate to be exonerated, I actually think she wants this to go to trial. |
Apparently, her hair products are being sold at discount at Ross stores. |
| Blake supporters give me such a sinister energy. Like they don't actually care about sexual harassment and they just care about Blake winning. They sort of talk about Justin the way men have traditionally talked about female abuse victims. "e.g. why didn't he assert more authority on set, he should've pushed back on set, but wait, no, hiring someone to defend him was too far, etc." |
Baldoni fans or people on his side at least would love for this to go to trial also. We want to hear from the assistant directors, boom operators, script supervisors, and everyone with intimate knowledge of what went down on that set who he has disclosed. Would love to hear from the wellness person that she accused of being a weight loss coach. She hasn’t disclosed any of those folks, just sisterhood of the traveling pants cast members. We’ve already established Taylor won’t be involved. That speaks volumes. She does not want people with intimate acknowledge of the set, taking the stand. Wonder why. Yes, let’s bring on the trial. It is so clear from the way this case was started and played out… they thought the New York Times article would be at the end of it, and they never thought that they would be here. yet, here we are. |
I am not sure this is the case. I think it might be true among die hard followers who are watching every court filing, but my impression of talking to people outside of that group is that the vast majority of people either (1) do not really care either way, assume both sides are sort of ridiculous, or (2) are like "Baldoni who?" and are inclined to assume there is at least some truth to the allegations against him. Like I don't think there are an army of Lively stans waiting to defend her at every turn, but most people don't really know or care who Baldoni is and certainly don't care enough about him to take his side in this case. Also mainstream media has definitely skewed toward Blake in the way they've reported on the case (which is sparingly) and people are heavily influenced by those headlines, as most people don't bother to read the underlying stories. I've had numerous people say to me this week, "oh is that whole thing over now? Blake Lively won?" Because the mainstream press widely reported on the judge finalizing the dismissal of Baldoni's case. I truly don't know if it will settle or go to trial. Normally it's in everyone's best interests to settle. But I think both sides see a benefit in going to trial *if* their narrative can prevail and get covered widely in the press. Which is a gamble because it's hard to guess how a trial would be covered. Also, importantly, unlike the Heard/Depp trial, there will be a lot more criticism of social media PR and anything that smells like a bot army, which will somewhat force the sides to play it straight and just see how people receive it. There also will not be any video of the trial itself, so it will depend on people reporting from the court room... it's very tricky. I think trial is a risk for both sides but also there is this element of "nothing left to lose" on both sides too because they've come this far. Statistically, it will settle. But I don't know that this one goes by the statistics. |
