Let’s be entertained by these 2 teams to play against each other once and for all and get a chance to appreciate the talent here locally in NOVA.

What is a showcase game? Do they still keep score and try to win?

Showcase games can be rostered very differently in order to get all players seen as much as possible. Coaches obviously want the team to play well but there is no medal to win, there are no showcase “standings”. These are simply competitively matched scrimmages.

Kids playing in showcase games are generally more concerned with how they play versus the result.

This doesn’t mean they don’t want to win but they also know that not a single college coach who may be watching will ever ask “what’s the score?”

This is utter BS. Obviously youre a parent from a lower team- because with now 10 years of my kids being on top teams and playing at Showcases, Ive seen no difference in rostering from non showcase tourneys and league plays, except when a team gets a big lead and the 2nd stringers get play time (which is what happens anyways).

Nope, I’m not a parent with any dog in this fight, I just know how showcases go. And if you are parent of anyone on these teams your primary concern should be noting the list of any attending coaches your DD might be interested in playing for, getting your letters ready and your highlights ready to send than being concerned about a particular matchup.

College coaches never care about the score, just the players. Has nothing to do with showcase or not. If it’s a game (or practice) that college coaches are watching is all that matters.

The parents, players and coaches will care about this match. VDA will get a reality check. My prediction is FCV 2 VDA 0.

Clearly this game means the world to FCV as they try and grasp at relevance. Could you be more insecure and “look at me”?

If your GA was so amazing you wouldn’t need to live for a Jeff Cup game for some competition. It would be far easier to join one of the local good ECNL teams and play against good competition nearly every week instead of playing Sporting Delaware and PA Classics and routing them.

Not sure which club you are from. I am not the PP. Please identify your club so that others can steer clear. At the recruiting ages college showcases should play girls who are trying to and have not yet been recruited. Some clubs don't help their players get recruited and they should be avoided!

I'd like to see Bethesda vs FCV. Bethesda has already beaten VDA

FCV would have played VDA in the final last year but finished 3rd in the group. Lost to Bethesda that weekend.

LOL....if you think the VDA coach cares about anything other than winning this game.
