Probably not the best major choice for that student. Do they have experience programming?

Cyber security will have a ton of math and science requirements. They’ll be weeded right out when they take calc the first semester.

Pick another major.

If they're interested in it b/c they want to stop crime, there are many other ways to do this that don't require lots of math. I agree with the others that CS is not the best path.

Criminology is a subfield of sociology. Psychology might also be useful at a place like the FBI.

There are also computer majors that are less math-heavy. We went to an Open House at Drexel and they explained the differences among their computer majors. Watch this for the explanation:

I think he can be successful if it is his idea.
Let him get two years degree from Montgomery community college and hands on experience.
