Reposting from a paywall free Greek paper but this was originally from a couple of days ago in nyt.

France is poised to be a post covid star.

Important to read to understand there are other models than the us one

That entire article is about how the French economy is doing well. So is ours.

Now talk about how they have 3X the number of Covid cases than they did at any other time in the pandemic.

Their April 2020 record was 100,000+ cases a day. They've breached 350,000+ cases a day this week.

If this Krugman is Paul Krugman, we know how accurate his opinion has been in the past.

So, take anything he says or predicts with a huge grain of salt.

Krugman? The guy who said if Trump was elected the market would crash to a level never before seen, and never recover?

That Krugman?

Ok.

Cases don’t matter as much when vast majority are vaccinated and the virus becomes weaker as it evolves.

Guess what? There will likely be even more COVID cases next year but the virus will continue to weaken.

France kept kids in school longer than any western nation. They made adults - not kids - stay home. That’s how you do it.

So what? Unvaccinated lunatics will be protesting in DC next weekend. They are the suicidal minority who are willing to hospitalize themselves to make a political point. Dumb political animals. Normal people are vaccinated,

The vast majority of unvaccinated also never get sick enough to see a hospital.

IT's better to be vaccinated, IMHO, but these arguments and claims are just hyperbola and increasingly tiresome.

What tiresome is dumb, unvaccinated morons clogging hospitals and pushing out people who are sick with cancer, heart attacks, etc. Unvaccinated make up the vast majority of COVID deaths despite the dwindling numbers of the unvaccinated. That’s a special kind of suicidal ideation.

The arrogance of the brainwashed, as if hospitalization is the only metric that matters.

That's fine and all, but unfortunately our teacher lobbies here would not have stood for that. Oh, imagine the horror that teachers have to go to work and their neighbor GS-13s get to stay home and sleep in.
