She’s up to 40 album variations.

Streaming for her music on Spotify is down, much more than the usual 30-40% after the first week of a new album.

If you were trying to start it conspiracy that the album was a flop or something it’s not going to work. Of course the album streaming has gone down, everyone and their mother streamed it 1 million times the first week it came out. It sounds like a lot of people who don’t like Taylor also streamed it so that they can pick on it. I think that’s something that doesn’t happen with those other artists. There’s going to be a drop off.

It is legitimately a good album that a lot of people are enjoying and will continue to enjoy. You can wish the people just stop streaming, but it’s going to be a success. I have no idea how it will compare to the success of her other albums, but it’s not going to be a flop.

I stated two facts. Two facts shared does not equal a "conspiracy." I never said the album was a "flop."

If Taylor is so good at singing live, why hasn't she sung on any of these talk shows to promote TLOAS?

LOL

She can't. That is why. She needs autotune.

I've never met anyone (and I know a lot of non-fans who went for their kids) who went to her concerts and did not have such an amazing time they now respect her. She doesn't have the best singing voice, that's not where her appeal lies.

Fair enough, but you were trying to make a point right? You were trying to say something about her album losing steam in the second week. And I was simply saying this completely makes sense for a global phenomenon like Taylor Swift. when most artists put out new music they are hoping their fans will engage, and then they’ll get new fans by having their fans networks maybe learn about them. Taylor is different because she has a core group of fans but then there’s a bunch of other people, including people who really don’t like her who are immediately going to listen to her new music so they can either be part of a conversation that many people are having, or, put out their hot takes and get clicks. It’s Taylor and people will click on it so it completely makes sense that she would have a bigger drop the second week than most people.

It seems like you were trying to imply that the album was of lower quality than others. But I don’t think it’s what that means. And the album still seems to be doing pretty well by any metric, even if there was a big drop off.

But why is this a diss?. I disagree with your assumption that Taylor uses autotune. But even if she did, Charli XCX is all autotune. She has completely come out in interviews and said her voice is trash and she only uses autotune. Have you ever listened to her? And she is a huge.

Will charli’s musical hold up in 10 years? I personally don’t think so. But right now the current state of pop music people don’t seem to mind. Taylor actually has a pretty decent voice and it’s grown a lot stronger since the beginning of her career.

A lot of popular and successful musicians don’t have great voices. Many more about the whole package of what they offer. Noah Kahan is one of my faves and his voice is a little twangy and can be hoarse sounding. He still puts out amazing songs people want to hear.

I can’t prove it, but I don’t believe it is about her wishing she had kissed a boy in high school or at least it’s not just about it. I feel that song is somehow connected to Question ?.

It's growing on me too, the more I listen to it. I hate Wood and Actually Romantic, so I skip those. But my favorites are The Fate of Ophelia, Ruin the Friendship, Eldest Daughter, and Wi$h Li$t. As for Ruin the Friendship, I did read something today that makes it pretty clear it's about her close high school friend who died.

So then she writes happy songs and she’s criticized.
If you don’t like her, that’s cool. Plenty of other artists out there to choose from, but some of the mental gymnastics to land on “hate her” is too much. Just say you don’t like her, you don’t need to act like she’s single handedly responsible for ending world hunger. That’s absurd. She does more than we know of most likely.

It is SO weird to me why anyone who dislikes something would be obsessed with letting everyone know about it. Do they feel cool? The TS and MM people are the same.

Why spend so much time and energy complaining about things and artists you DON’T like? Get a hobby or find something you DO like and get on with your life. Weird.

Because she can’t sing. She fooled me, but I have exited the cult.

Actually, that’s not a fair criticism anymore. I just listened to a podcast that follows pop culture and they had a renowned vocal coach on to say that Taylor Swift now in fact can sing. she was contrasting this album with her early work saying that earlier in her career it was well accepted that Taylor wasn’t a great singer, but that people accepted that because of her lyricism and storytelling. But now she’s clearly been training no doubt to be able to sing for 3 1/2 hours a night during her 18 month tour and all that work has paid off.

I won’t bother to tell you which podcast it is unless someone wants to know cause I don’t expect her haters to go listen, but she was giving specific examples throughout the album and saying how difficult it is to hit those ranges. She’s saying Taylor has exceptional control over her voice, her range, and her abilities to control her voice and her breath. Probably as a result of all the preparation for the world‘s biggest tour.

I love her voice. It's natural, unforced, and very pretty. And not autotuned, which is a huge plus in my book.

How is a deal with Disney a money grab that affects you in any way? She made a business deal with Disney- she’s not charging per view. If you have Disney or Hulu, you can watch without paying anything extra. I fail to see how this is anything gross. Many people, myself included, are really curious about behind the scenes of that tour. I’m more interested in that than the new album. I have Disney so I’ll watch without a single dime leaving my wallet. Now tell me again why you’re bitter?

Thank you! So sick of this whiny poster constantly complaining about being some sort of a... victim? Due to Taylor Swift's success? Sounds like someone is mentally unwell and absolutely green with envy, for some inexplicable reason.

How much did they pay that vocal coach?

All you have to do is listen to her try to sing on the voice notes she has released with TLOAS. She can't sing. Shellback and Martin try to steer her in the right direction, but she won't listen to their advice and/or can't do it.

The voice notes show that she doesn't listen to constructive criticism. She thinks she is amazing.

In one voice note for "Ruin the Friendship," she tells them she has this "amazing lyric." This is what she called "amazing": "My advice is always ruin the friendship/ Better that than regret it / For all time"

If you think that is amazing, wonderful. I don't agree.

Now, let's move on to her singing it. She sings "Ruin the Friendship" out of tune.

Without autotune doing the work for her, she'd be cooked and everyone would know. If you are an audio engineer, you know how hard autotune is working to make her sound good.

That is why audio engineers at an undisclosed stadium were laughing at her singing out of tune. They could hear the real audio feed in the booth--and not the corrected version. Her singing is that bad.

DP. Any citations for that nuttiness you just pulled out of your rear end? No? Didn't think so. You are such a sad person.

Charli XCX is awful and her music is completely forgettable.

Travis is a move-on drug, likely with temporary effects. Just like Joe was. That's why this album is so bland: she isn't in love with him, and he doesn't inspire deep emotions and ideas. Her hyping him up, their relationship and the album is giving, "And if I bleed, you'll be the last to know."
