Help- I need a gift for a 2 year old boy

Can you help me out. I would like it to be around 30 or less. I'm looking for something that will be entertaining but not have 100s of pieces, so Legos are out. Thanks.

A bunch of matchbox cars, or art supplies, or pretend food/kitchen stuff would all be hits with my 2.5yo son.

magnetic blocks, magnatiles, or geo smart

THings that were a hit: a set of wooden cars/trucks (Melissa and Doug), a little people (Fisher Price) bus/airplane/vehicle, peg puzzles...

My 2.5 year old is obsessed with cars. He loves matchbox cars as well as bigger cars/ firetrucks/ school buses/ garbage trucks/ ambulances. Bonus points if you can open the doors. He seems to care more about opening and shutting the doors than the sirens/ lights.

Play doh, 24 piece puzzles, books.

Mom of two boys here...

There's a Melissa and Doug "Keys and Cars Rescue Garage" that has doors you can open, keys to unlock them with, and slots for the different vehicles.

Green Toys makes a big car carrier that comes with different cars that slide onto the different levels that's fun.

The Melissa and Doug Dust-Sweep-Mop set is a huge hit with my kids who are both under 4. I have tricked the 3 y/o into dusting the radiators for fun on several occasions. On the flip side, the mop has been used in conjunction with the dog bowl in a well-intentioned but poorly executed effort to help.

There’s a Melissa and Doug vet or doctor set my son liked at that age. Magnatiles as other have said. My son also loved the Melissa and Doug cash register, and projector type toys we got on Amazon- a learning resources astronomy projector type thing, and another one that projects stars onto the wall. Also liked playmobile sets at that age.
