Two Rivers Lottery

So when do results come out, anyway?

The lottery is tonight at 6.

And they announced at the open house that there's already a waitlist for siblings for the PS-3 classes, so I'm not even bothering to track those results.

I'm here at the lottery now. PS has 17 spaces. They have a separate list for sibling preference which is 8. 24 pre-k spots, 10 sibling.

Sorry for the multiple posting. I'm on my BB.

When will they post the results online?

My best guess would be Thursday. The asst principal was inputing the numbers on a spreadsheet as the numbers were called.

As with most of the charters I applied to, no slots for k. But we at least got a decent number on the waitlist.

Just to double-check, there are 17 PS seats and 8 siblings, so 9 other PS seats? If so, that is better than suggested at the open house I attended in November -- where they emphasized that they didn't really know for sure, but thought all PS seats would be filled by siblings.

Not that 9 seats provide a wide-open opportunity, particularly given my luck in lotteries to date ... my lowest waitlist number (outside of our inbounds school, where we are still waitlisted with a number in the mid-teens) is 60. Best waitlist number in charter lotteries is 85. This process sucks.

My understanding is that the sibling spaces were there if another child was accepted during the lottery. For example, child gets spot in 2nd grade and has sibling who also applied for pre-k. One pre-k sibling space is now gone. They didn't mention about sibling spaces for current students, but the print out stated those children had already been placed into their classes.

I called this morning and there are no nonsibling spots for PS at all. Everyone else is on the waitlist. There are PK spots for nonsiblings.

Thanks for the (depressing) clarification.

They will apparently be posting results on the website tomorrow as well as mailing out letters. (I called today to check on our status.)

Thanks for posting this. I had gotten that impression at the open house, but a comment on this thread made me think that I was wrong and there were slots, after all. Disappointing, but nice to get off the emotional roller coaster a day early.
