Why don’t I feel gross after eating Chick Fil A?

Anonymous
I occasionally eat fast food, maybe once or twice a month. If it’s McDs or BK or Taco Bell, I feel really gross afterwards. But if it’s CFA I don’t. Why is that? Maybe I should only eat CFA from now on and skip the others.

P.S. This is a genuine question, not marketing for CFA

Well think about a bean burrito/big beef meximelt vs a Grilled chicken sandwich. I mean one is diarrhea waiting to happen.

Maybe look at what’s different about your orders? I don’t know the details of their ingredient lists, but one thing that jumps out is that at Chik Fil A, you might not be eating dairy, you’re not eating red meat, and maybe their food is less processed — or less processed with additives that you’re sensitive to.

I do wonder why you continue to repeatedly eat food that makes you feel “really gross”.

I feel "contaminated" after eating BK, KFC, and to a lesser extent McDs and Wendy's which is why I only eat at those places if I am in a rush, really hungry, and need to eat right quick. But like you, I never feel gross with CFA.
I believe it has to do with the ketchup/mayonnaise mixture they put on burgers, and for KFC it's the reused grease to fry the chicken. I don't eat at Tanko Hell so I don't know about them.

I once brought a BK burger home and I took one bite but had to spit it out. The ketchup/mayo mess on the burger was rancid. I threw the burger out in the back yard and even the flies would not touch it which made me think, "If flies won't eat it, what kind of toxic foul substance are they using?" I do my very best to avoid eating at these places. It may very well explain why cancer seems to be more common these days than in the 1800s.

Because it’s delicious. Don’t question it.

Their 'sauces' are crummy soybean oil-based, so I don't know why CFA has this "good" reputation. It's bottom barrel garbage just like its peers.

You are lactose intolerant. You get cheese or sour cream at McDonald's and Taco bell, right?

Tastes great without any sauce. We get ketchup for the fries sometimes, but that’s it.

I feel like the servings at CFA are smaller than other places-maybe thats part of it?

That being said, I’m a weirdo who considers Taco Bell to be one of the healthier fast food places. I love those bean burritos and so do my kids. A tortilla with beans, cheese and onion doesn’t seem unhealthy to me and I always feel just fine after eating them.
