Left clothes in wash for 3 days

Anonymous
Had an emergency and ran out the house with clothes in the washer several days ago. Now I’m not sure how to proceed - just wash the clothes again? Pour in a bunch of bleach? Vinegar? These are white clothes and I have no clue what to do.

I'd just wash them again on hot with bleach and then dry them as normal. It's great that they're whites so you can use bleach.

Wash them again, smell them, and if they still smell bad do it again with bleach. This is not a big deal.

I have done the same, too many times to count. As other posters state just re-wash them with hot water, if that does not take the smell out especially since you have white clothes, you can use Oxi clean or bleach that should do the trick.

Just wash them again. Be generous with the Tide.

Troll. No one on DCUM does less than one load a day.

White vinegar
Or bleach since they are white

+2. I did this more than I care to admit, especially when I was sleep deprived with small babies and toddlers. No permanent damage. Drive my DH nuts, but apparently not nuts enough to, you know, do it himself.

Wash again, and use vinegar as fabric softener.

Rewash with oxi-clean or Borax. Extra rinse. Wash twice.

I have done this many time OP.

My laundry is in my basement.

No worries just wash again smell the clothes. They should be fine.

Thanks all. I am not a troll - just a grown woman who does not know how to do laundry (or handle emergencies, apparently). I appreciate the advice!

Wash with Vinegar.

I do this often. Wash again and dry. Only if there’s a smell then I do vinegar.

I do this all the time, hot wash with another Tide pod.
