In fact, none of the late night presenters are that great. I've tried to watch them from start to finish but they never hold my attention.

I don't think I've watched a late night show in its entirety since David Letterman was on.

Late Night television is dead. Even before this month's kerfuffle, it became clear that ratings for all of them are collapsing. No one watches live television at midnight anymore. And there's not enough money in clips that go viral to make it worth it to continue with this format. I don't think any contracts would have been renewed regardless.

Podcasts are todays late night tv. And Smartless is the modern equivalent of The Tonight Show, for better or worse. Then you have Conan and Amy Phoehler with their podcasts and it's basically like the old days - but much better.

My routine when I was commuting was usually to listen to The Daily Show, Ears Edition in the morning. I know others who listen to Stephen and other late night hosts on podcasts.

I don't know why Emily Blunt keeps getting cast in roles that require traditional, charming A-listers. She's a great actress, but she doesn't fit roles like the lead in The Fall Guy. I don't think she and Ryan Gosling had any chemistry at all in that movie.

Wanting their kid to play any of the 450+ D1 colleges for their sport.
No matter how crappy the school, department or alum network. It’s all about playing in college, for anywhere.

We don’t see this as much in DC area but sure did in the south. It was odd.

What does this have to do with pop culture?

I don’t think this is an unpopular opinion. Half the country feels this way.

There are tons of memes about it-- pretty popular--

Like "This woman has a GoFundMe" and such like that:

I don't get why this is a gotcha. My brother was killed in a shocking way in his 30s and I did not cry when I heard about it, or at the funeral. It was too unbelievable. The first time I cried about it was a year later, out of nowhere, when I heard a song we used to sing together.

I hate that there's 10000 options for entertainment between cable, networks, all the movies/sitcoms/series you can watch on. But still. Still, there are only a handful of worthwhile truly magnificent gems.

Contrast that to back in the day - Must See TV was excellent. You only had those 4-5 shows, but boy. Everyone was happy watching those

Sometimes it's not about options but about just a few quality items. I see it in everything - books (how many possible chicken soups for the soul can there be in life???!!!), movies, food brand choices, every single thing. But all we really all want are the really stellar things in life, no?

Such a dilemma...

I don't like Tom Hanks and I don't think he's a good actor.

Brad Pitt is not attractive or talented and never was.

Friends was garbage.

The Beatles sound like hicks.

I am so sorry that you lost your brother. I assume as soon as you lost him you didn’t immediately turn to fundraising efforts and immediately start selling merch.

Speculation about Erica and her motives are totally warranted here. It’s not just lack of tears. This is really not normal. The more they dig into her background the more suspect it gets. She is a grifter.

I was watching a lot of night court for a period this year. It’s one of the only intros I DON’T skip.

Notice how there aren’t anymore theme songs, it is a thing if the past.

Only Murders in the Building has one!

And Slow Horses, for those who prefer the “song you could almost listen to as a pop song” category.

Love that Mick Jagger was happy to do it because he likes the books. Hate how firmly it gets stuck in my head!
