Ozy Fraud and Founders

What what a story, trying to pretend to be a Youtube executive in talks with Goldman.

I mean, I guess this is one reason to go back to meeting in person...

Looking into these founders, I got curious about Watson? His parents were teachers and working class immigrants, yet he went to a private school? I swear every person who I think is coming from hardscrabble roots, surprise they went to a private or magnet school. It seems like the high school foundations are key to leveraging an elite college degree to maximum $$$$.

The story is nuts (no pun intended).

I have some personal experience with Ozy that leads me to believe there will be more stories to come.

I started seeing commercials on TV for Watson’s YouTube talk show about a year ago and remember thinking WTF is this guy I’ve never heard of and how does he have all these guests on a show that’s only on YouTube? Weird.

Here’s the Times article.

So this guy went to Harvard and coasted on his genial attitude, like the We pothead.

Of course the board is accepting it, if it’s not swept under the rug of mental health, investors will flee.

What cracks me up about their supposed audience numbers is that I am a news/content junkie, and not once have I ever A) said, “Hey, did you see that Ozy piece?” or had anyone say the same to me.

Same. I’ve heard of Fusion and thought it was kinda lame, but this is some ghost pump and dump media scam.

WeWork, Theranos, Ozy, how many scams are hiding in Silicon Valley?

There have to be so many. We'll find out when there's another real market contraction. It's like Warren Buffett says, "you never know who's swimming naked until the tide goes out."

The problem is that every "founder" thinks they deserve to be a billionaire by the time they hit 35. No amount of smoke and mirrors will be too much if it helps them get there.

And Katty Kay left the BBC to join Ozy? I’m wondering if she has second thoughts.

Yup I noticed there was no mention of it when they introduced her on Morning Joe and then there it was.
