I know there’s another thread about designers but I’m just DIYing a basement. So far I have a chalkboard wall, foam floor tiles, low toy storage shelves, and I’m planning on an art, etc table from IKEA.
Is a pickler triangle worth it? Foam shapes? A rope swing from the ceiling? Baby is 1. |
We had a large felt world map on the wall, which had a bunch of felt landmarks to attach. My DCs didn't learn anything from it, but loved rearranging the felt pieces. |
Hiding space with ventilation. Performing “stage” with curtains. |
Here’s what my kids used the most:
- An open area with gymnastics mats for tumbling and wrestling and general physical play. It’s great when it’s raining or super cold out. - A table for lego building - comfy seating for reading books or watching a movie |
Play kitchen, LEGO/train table, dress up clothes area |
