Kristi Noem shot a puppy for being untrainable as a hunting dog

Trump famously hates animals especially dogs. He is constantly using a comparison to a dog as an insult. This will likely elevate her in his eyes.

This is inhuman.

And one of his DILs is involved with dog rescue - I'm sure she's got plenty to say about this, too.

Is she really though? She auctioned off puppies at MAGA-lago for a fundraiser but I think the money went to the Trump reelection campaign. Her husband stole from a children’s cancer charity.

I am no fan of any Trump - but I do think that Lara is sincerely interested in animals. I'm sure she's also pocketing money, as well, because if you're a Trump you've got sticky fingers.

There were some mean dogs on our street, that came at me once. I heard they were put down after they killed a horse.

Recall this woman was also stepping outside her marriage to bang woman-beater Corey Lewandowski.

Okay, you gotta find the social media meme of "marry, f*ck, kill" trending on Noem at moment. Hilarious.

Bullshit. You would FIRST spay or neuter the dog, to likely calm it down, THEN donate it to someone. A spirited dog probably would do best in a home with no other dogs in the house. A good bred dog like this just needs good training and lots of daily exercise.

Of course PP might do this - AND SHOULD - but all he/she said that some people in farm country do not. Which is horrible but true. Not bullshit.
- PP with the relative in northeastern Nebraska who did pretty much exactly what she did

A pit bull rescue who attacks a kid, sure, kill on the spot.

A loose pure bred bird dog puppy who goes after some chickens? No, you do not murder it. I don’t know any country folk who would do such a thing.

I know those folk because my husband’s great uncle told us this exact story, down to the sucks at pheasant hunting and messed with the chickens (their own chickens though.) I am NOT endorsing this, I teared up when I heard this story (it was my first time meeting these people!) and it still makes Noem horrifying. But people telling you that this happens are not lying to you.

Great uncle may be the operative phrase here. My now deceased parents put down dogs too when they were too old to move or were attack/bite risks and couldn't be rehabilitated. But that is what rural folks did then - you saved the money for the vet to birth/save your herds, etc. At some point, euthanasia by vets became more affordable and widespread. If our dog routinely got loose, then attacked and killed the neighbors' chickens, there's a chance they may have taken the matters into their own hands, though they probably would've wandered over or called my parents first and said, "Either get Baron under your control or we'll need to."

This is like 40-50 years ago, not now. IDK any of my relative who would put a dog down on their own now, especially pure bred when there is FB Marketplace.

Anonymous wrote:The story has some gaps. So the young dog/puppy was amped up during the hunt and then Noem brought the dog off leash to a farm with chickens running around? Why would you do that when you just saw the dog amped up during the hunt?

Then the young dog/puppy went after the chickens and then Noem got mad - she indicated she hated the young dog/puppy and shot the dog in a gravel pit.

Her daughter returned home from school and asked where the dog, Cricket, was. So the dog was a pet to her daughter?

And Noem decided to kill a goat because it was mean and smelled.

And she wrote about this in a book like it showed she could “do hard things.” Is this a campaign narrative that wins elections?

as someone else pointed out on twitter - the hard thing is to train a dog, and to learn how to live with each other. the easy thing is to get angry and shoot someone in the head and put them in a gravel pit.

+1. Destruction is easy. Building is hard.

what I hear you saying is you approve of Noem's shooting a puppy. Or that shooting a puppy isn't really that bad. Is that correct? Is that your opinion? Or are you just trying to deflect? Please be honest now!

No, I don't care that she shot a dog she owns that exhibited negative behavior. This is a joke of an issue.

she presented this story as an example of good behavior, not negative behavior

The ppl making excuses for Noem, she could show up at their door and kill their dogs. They’d still find a reason to say it’s ok. There really is no bottom. They will never find a reason to disagree with MAGA/Trump
