I don't want to totally derail the other thread. I was asked to state examples of how non-Christians and non-Jews were treated if they did not convert since I stated they were killed or raped.
Here is my response:

The pp said, find out what happens to those that don't convert. Not what happens when Jews and Christians don't convert.
Christians and Jews-- Jizya tax
Everyone else-- Death and Rape
This has been seen around the world at various times since the dawn of Islam.
History doesn't agree with you. Not in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran.
You're joking right? You clearly don't have a grasp on history.
Then you go and provide proof that non-Jews and non-Christians in India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Iran were killed off or raped. You wonder how there's so many of them left. Must be an extraordinarily sturdy bunch.
Iran:
Persecution of Zorastrians:
The Islamic Conquest (8th-10th centuries) and subsequent forced conversions or death caused a large group of the then dominant religion of Iran, Zorastrians, to flee. They fled to India where they are to this day known as Parsi, which means Persian. They have done very well there and have been free to practice their religion.
Iranis, also Zorastrians, are a large, more recent group of refugees that have fled Islamic rule.
Persecution of Bahai:
The Iranian Constitution of 1906 did not guarantee freedom of religion. It did at this point, grant some limited freedoms to Christians, Jews and even Zorastrians. They did viewed the Bahai faith as heretical, even though it does follow some parts of Islam.
In Yazd, more than 100 of the Bahai faith were killed, Bahai schools were closed and marriages were not recognized.
During the month of Ramadan in 1955, sermons were cast daily in hate against the Bahai. Cemeteries were desecrated, woman were kidnapped, many were killed each day during Ramadan, faith centers were destroyed.
Hojjatiyeh was formed to combat the Bahai faith.
The 1979 Revolution again came at the Bahai community with more that 200 killed. They were expelled from their workplaces, religious sites again destroyed, mob attacks, arson.
In Sarvestan, 100s of homes were set fire and 1000s of Bahai left homeless.
Students were expelled from university.
Since 2005, more than 700 Bahai's have been arrested, included women with their nursing children.
Malaysia-
Numerous Hindu temples have been destroyed including a 107 year old one, a 100 year old one and a 90 year old temple. This along with increasing violence against Hindus.
Forced conversion to marry a Muslim and any children that have one parent that is Muslim belong to that parent and the other has no rights to the child.
The indigenous peoples, Orang Asli, are pressured to convert in order to receive any government assistance.
Indonesia-
Most persecution in Indonesia is against Christians/Catholics such as the 1000 Catholic school children kidnapped from East Timor and sent to Islam radicalization schools in Indonesia.
Also a good deal of persecution against Ahmadiyah muslims for being considered heretics.
India-
This has centuries upon centuries of history and I will likely miss quite a bit. 100s of millions have been killed or converted via sword over 800 centuries.
Thousands of holy sites destroyed, mass executions, kidnappings, etc.
Against Hindus:
711 AD- Buddhists in Sindh had no chance against the sword. Resistors were killed, woman became captives, temples converted to mosques. Jizya of those that lived involved feeding all Muslim travelers for 3 days and 3 nights.
11th century- Under Ghazni, who was considered a quite peaceful invader because he didn't kill exceedingly. He simply plundered and destroyed hundreds of temples and took their money.
1397- Timur invaded, he was would capture towns and villages and massacre the men, rape the women and take all the food to support his army. He executed 100,000 captives, destroyed the entire city of Delhi and those that were not killed were enslaved.
Under Firuz Shah Tughluq there is a historical recording called "Tarikh-i-Firuz Shah" that attests to Hindu persecution. Here is a snippet:
'An order was accordingly given to the Brahman and was brought before Sultan. The true faith was declared to the Brahman and the right course pointed out. but he refused to accept it. A pile was risen on which the Kaffir with his hands and legs tied was thrown into and the wooden tablet on the top. The pile was lit at two places his head and his feet. The fire first reached him in the feet and drew from him a cry and then fire completely enveloped him. Behold Sultan for his strict adherence to law and rectitude.'
During the Mughal empire, important Hindu temples and sites were destroyed and a Mosque would be built in it's place.
Tipu Sultan carried out mass executions of Hindus and forced conversions or death by sword.
In Seringetam, young men were forcibly circumcized.
Over 200 Brahmins were forcibly converted and forced to eat beef.
Tipu sent a letter on 19 January 1790 to the Governor of Bekal, Budruz Zuman Khan. It says:
"Don't you know I have achieved a great victory recently in Malabar and over four lakh (400,000) Hindus were converted to Islam? I am determined to march against that cursed Raman Nair (Rajah of Travancore) very soon. Since I am overjoyed at the prospect of converting him and his subjects to Islam, I have happily abandoned the idea of going back to Srirangapatanam now"
The following is a translation of an inscription on the stone found at Seringapatam, which was situated in a conspicuous place in the fort:
Oh Almighty God! dispose the whole body of infidels! Scatter their tribe, cause their feet to stagger! Overthrow their councils, change their state, destroy their very root! Cause death to be near them, cut off from them the means of sustenance! Shorten their days! Be their bodies the constant object of their cares (i.e., infest them with diseases), deprive their eyes of sight, make black their faces (i.e., bring shame).
Under Sikander Butshikan-The Tarikh-i-Firishta records that Sikandar persecuted the Hindus and issued orders proscribing the residency of any other than Muslims in Kashmir. He also ordered the breaking of all "golden and silver images". The Tarikh-i-Firishta further states: "Many of the Brahmins, rather than abandon their religion or their country, poisoned themselves; some emigrated from their native homes, while a few escaped the evil of banishment by becoming Mahomedans. After the emigration of the Bramins, Sikundur ordered all the temples in Kashmir to be thrown down. Having broken all the images in Kashmeer, (Sikandar) acquired the title of ‘Destroyer of Idols’"
Between 200,000 to 1 million died during the fighting and violence that occurred during the Pakistan partition.
Jinnah's Muslim League declared Direct Action Day on Aug. 16 1946, held a rally and then went on to slaughter Hindus and Hindu owned shops. More than 4,000 were killed and 100,000 left homeless in 72 hours.
After 7 weeks, the Naorkhali riots. 200 dead, women abducted.
In Hydrabad, Hindus were persecuted, temples destroyed, scriptures forbidden.
Bangladesh, formerly East Pakistan, formerly India had the 1971 Bangladeshi Genocide where up to 3 million Hindus were raped and murdered.
Currently, it is estimated that 20-25 Hindu girls are abducted every month, raped and forcibly married to convert to Islam.
Against Sikhs:
1752 under Muin-Ul-Malik-ordered the extermination of Sikhs in his area. Men were rounded up and beheaded, young girls were sold to jihadis, women and children were taken to a jail. They were forced to work in the stone mills and told to convert or face consequences. They did not convert and 300 babies and children were IMPALED on spears. Their limbs and organs were chopped off and placed as garland on the women.
Sikh men were often scalped alive to remove the sacred ponytail of hair from their head.
The two youngest sons of the 10th Sikh Guru, Fateh Singh age 6 and Zorawar Singh age 9- were told to convert to Islam or die. They said no.
These two brave little boys were BRICKED ALIVE in 1706. Sealed behind a brick wall alive, to die like that.
There are so many brutal and sick incidents that were recorded in the Sikh killings. From boiling in a cauldron of oil to being sawed in half. It's disgusting and I can't bring myself to type them up. These are all under the convert or die umbrella.
These are just in the countries you mentioned over a period of history. Then there are the more recent conversions of similar forced nature that span multiple countries around the world including the UK, India, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Malaysia, Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan, etc.
Before anyone jumps down my throat calling me an Islamophobe. Understand that I have nothing against the majority of Muslims and I know that most do not practice Islam in this way.
I will not turn a blind eye towards the fact that these things have happened in the past and continue to happen in the present though and being aware of these facts and of history do not make me an Islamophobe.
I don't think that you're an Islamophobe, OP. The pp in the other thread claimed you were wrong, and you were not. If you don't have a grasp of the history of Islam, leave defending Islam to someone who does! It's not like there hasn't been a lot of violence in Christian history, but we don't need to pretend that Islam doesn't have a bloody history.
