Do you go to see the cherry blossoms around Tidal Basin in DC? Or elsewhere in DMV? Where? Do you go out to see them every year? Do you go for the cherry blossom festival and parade? Reconstruction on south side of tidal basin so avoid that area this year. |
Never the festival or parade.
Sometimes I walk around the museums and Capitol. The main area on Ohio is waay too busy. We have different varieties around my neighborhood too. |
Kenwood Bethesda? |
National arboretum is a good spot. Meadowlark in VA too.
The wharf is having a bloom fest on Saturday. |
Kids are currently 13 and 15. We go see the blossoms every 2 years or so. A Saturday or Sunday, just a few hours, tidal basin. It’s always a very fun outing. |
This. We drive through Kenwood every year at cherry blossom time. We’ve taken a picture of DD by the same tree since she was a baby. |
How about the kite festival?

I see them every year, but I can jog there from my house on a weekday morning. That eliminates most of the unpleasantness of transit issues and crowds. |
I enjoy the tidal basin, despite the crowds. I go maybe every other year. |
I always take my dog for walks around the tidal basin area, but no, I do not go during cherry blossom time. I used to go to the festival and all that stuff but I don't like the crowds anymore. I look at them in the neighborhood whenever I'm out and about. |
I don't go during cherry blossom time because it makes me so angry to see tourists climbing the trees and even worse, breaking branches off.
