It's gigaBIT. Not gigaBYTE. A byte has 8 bits in it. It's why you hear them call the Internet speed gigabit. If it was gigabyte Internet, it would be 8 times as fast. |

| For gaming and streaming, the numbers that matter most are upload speed and latency (ping times). Figure on needing 10Mbps upload per streamer at a time. So, ideally, you would want 40Mbps symmetrical service, at least. Additional download speed is a bonus. You could probably get by with less than this if necessary. |

I upgraded to a Gigabit early in the pandemic and it's been perfect for us.
Family of 4, 1 teen, 1 college-age, everyone working/schooling from home, all of our TV is streaming, both kids have their own video gaming consules. |
