Classes, Workshops, Camps, and Playgroups
DS is 2.5. We don't mind traveling a bit; I'll be home on maternity leave this summer and would love to find lots of fun things to do with my toddler.
CC Rec Center on CT Ave has art, music, and gymnastics. Musikids has music classes at CC Baptist Church. There are story times at the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays depending on the ages of your child. Gymboree is pretty close in Bethesda. There's also Silver Stars Gymnastics in Silver Spring.
Tons. Gymboree Bethesda (has gym, music, and art) is just over the DC line on Wisc Ave. JW Tumbles is also pretty close. Lots of dance options, too, although you didn't mention that. Also google Coach John Jenkins ("Just 4 Kids") for a variety of sports options in MD and DC/Georgetown.
Thanks to you both!
Kidville (currently in Rockville) is moving to the heart of Bethesda (across from Georgetown Cupcake) in May. Summer session classes will start at that location the second week of May. We've been taking our daughter (now 22 months) for over a year and we're very happy with it! It is a little more geared towards SAHM in terms of schedules, but I work full-time and we manage to take 2 classes per "semester".
Montgomery County Rec Dept's Wisconsin Place Community Center has a Tiny Tots playroom that's part of their Open Gym program, and also has several FunFit half-day camp programs this summer that run M-F from 9:30 - 12 or so during certain weeks. During the year they have tiny tot drop-in in the gym Mon/Wed from 9-12 and FunFit classes Thursday mornings and some tiny tot art programs on Friday mornings.

Hi!
This is Michelle from musiKids. We have locations in Chevy Chase and Bethesda and have a lot of fun summer offerings including a Mommy and Me MiniCamp that meets three days a week for an hour and a half (you can sign up by the week) and two 4 week sessions of music and movement classes (July and August) to work around summer travel plans. $92 for a four week session. If you would like more information about our programs, please give me a call at 301-215-7946. Hopefully we will see you this summer! |
