GF/CF diet for kid with Asperger's???

Anonymous
Anyone use a gluten-free, casein-free diet for a kid with Asperger's? Wonder if it would help with behavior/anger/rage issues, but don't want to make life difficult for no reason. Thoughts? Success stories.

I do but not just because I wanted to try it. We ran the allergy tests and came up positive for gluten and cow's milk. This is the IGG (I think) Elisa (something like that) test that measures how you break down food - not the skin pin prick test. So we found that we were in fact, not breaking down gluten or dairy.

Thanks! Did you see any benefits from it? I am taking him to an allergist this summer because he's clearly allergic to something (prob dust, pollen). Is this something allergists could detect? Right now I'm just ruling out various things to see if we can help the behavior issues.

No, an allergist would definitely NOT do this kind of test. There is IGG and IGE. You need a blood test to determine the food allergy. I had mind done at NIHA DC. www.nihadc.org. We see Debbie McCabe. She can run all sorts of tests for you to determine not only potential food allergies but vitamins, minerals, metals, etc.

By the way, YES, we saw a huge benefit. No more night wake ups, no more delay when people ask her questions, more stalbe and balanced mood and better behavior in school.
