Where to take a family vacation with a 15-month-old

My parents want to take my sibling, me, DH, and our son on vacation in May or June. What is a good place to go with a 15-month-old? Ideally, we could drive but not a requirement. We are looking for something to do with our son (i.e. not a resort where we'd just leave him in childcare). We're a pretty active family so anything outdoors would be great. TIA.

Bar Harbor Maine, did it with a 13 month old. Lots of places to go, rented a cabin.

We took our DD to Ocean City at that age. We love to ride bikes, swim, and walk on the beach. Had a great time. A few months later, we went to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce and Sedona. Also great trip.

VA beach ... Boardwalk, lighthouse, beach, aquarium ... Close to Portsmouth which has a children's museum as well as a paddle wheel ferry .... Hotel will doubtless have a pool, too.

It's not a drive, but we took our then 15-month old DD to Washington state on a hiking/camping trip, and we all had a blast. So much to see and do, and she loved it.

We take our kids everywhere. You'll have to adjust your schedule for naps and to know when to stop before a meltdown. We recently went to Cancun for relaxing week, but still took a day trip to Chitchen Itza. Yes, it was exausting, but we wanted to see it and didn't let the kids stop us.

Club Med or any other that provide child care services. There is such resort in South Carolina.
