Recommend your premium skinny denim with moderate rise

I like a little stretch, skinny, but not painted on skinny. If it flatters a petite frame, all the better, but I can always hem. Jeans I've tried but don't like (not necessarily premium): Jcrew Matchstick: I am in between sizes. A 26 is too small at the waist and a 27 fits the waist but is baggy in the butt and legs. I've also tried every jean in Madewell and those aren't working for me either. Before I hit Nordstrom I'd like some recommendations.

Try the new AG "The Tights" jeans from Anthropologie or Piperlime. They might be a little too painted on for you, but they have this amazing band at the top (no button) that is super comfy and then your button doesn't stick out when you wear a fitted tank or cute top. I also really like Paige Denim skinny jeans.

Not premium, but I really like the Gap "always skinny" jeans. I have premium jeans, but I like the Gap ones best.

I love Seven for All Mankind's Kate jeans. Medium rise, skinny legs, all different colors and washes. I'm a 27 and hard to fit in the waist (I get gaps in the back waistband) and these fit perfectly for me. You may have a hard time finding Kate's at Nordstroms though. Good luck!
