Pedicure without jets

Anonymous
I probably know the answer to this but here it goes?

Is it equally dangerous to have a pedicure in the whirpool bowl if the jets are not used as if they are used?

I love the pedicures at the place I currently go to and would hate to switch but the talk of fungus has me scared.

I think the point is that the tub can't be cleaned as well. THe Red Door in Chevy Chase doesn't use those tubs. They are expensive though.

Is there any other place besides Red Door that doesn't use the tubs?

I am pregnant and craving a pedicure right now, but don't feel like shelling $70 plus tip for one.

Do you live near Vienna? Sesen Spa on Church Street has been featured in the media (including the Today Show) for their hygiene practices. They do have jets.

Bump. Surely there are more salons without jets out there?

I had a pedicure without jets at Aveda in Bethesda - that was a while ago, though.

I had a pedicure yesterday at a new place near my house (Aislinn Nails and Spa, on the corner of Leesburg Pike and Haycock Rd). Their chairs were really nice and had one center jet - however, it looked different. Maybe it's easier to clean?
