Suddenly can't access a number of websites from one computer

Anonymous
I've suddenly encountered this strange issue. I've used Firefox on a desktop PC for a long time with no issue. Last night, when I tried to access my Gmail account, Amazon and a few other sites, absolutely nothing happens or else a blank screen appears. Oddly, DCUM and Facebook come up just fine. All the sites are fine on my laptop with Firefox, and I can access the sites with Chrome on the PC.

I, of course, first tried shutting down and restarting to no avail, then clearing cookies and cache, which made no difference. I can just use Chrome, but will miss having all the history for Firefox that remembers various sites I've been to and certain passwords I stored. Is there anything I can do to get these sites to load?

Did you try updating Firefox? It might be a bad driver or CODEC, but updating should ensure all are up to date.

Do you live alone? My ex-husband used to block access to certain sites so I couldn’t access them on the wifi.

Clear out your browsing cache (cookies, history, etc.). Then try again.
