Peacock TV -- anyone else have tech issues with streaming it?

Anonymous

Just getting a reality check here: Does anyone else out there have problems streaming Peacock?

Of the streaming services we use, it's the only one that glitches and hiccups. For instance, we can be watching something and suddenly there's buffering for quite a while. Or there's buffering, then...blackout. Sometimes it kicks us out and we're all the way back outside Peacock altogether.

Since I know people will ask this, nope, we do not have other issues with our internet service, we're not running lots of other devices simultaneously etc.

Anyone have any ideas about why this might be happening? Whether it's Peacock or us, or both? And what to DO about it, if anything? I got the free version if that makes any difference at all. Not sure why it should. We use other streaming services that are "free with ads" and they don't glitch out like Peacock does. Thanks in advance for any ideas, folks.

To add, in case it helps anyone with a diagnosis -- Peacock shows also will get out of sync, where the audio is running ahead of the slowed-down video. Or, and this one's new as of yesterday, the screen will go black but we hear the audio, then we'll get both image and sound back OK after a few seconds.

It's driving me nuts, but Peacock is the only place to stream some of our favorite shows, so any ideas are appreciated.

I am mostly annoyed that we can't get peacock on all our tvs easily - I know we could do the casting thing, but that is a hassle. So, currently, the only TV we can do Peacock on is the one with a Roku in our guest room.

we occasionally get the audio/video sync issue with Hulu. It is so annoying. Usually have to just get out of the app then go back in. Not sure if the same would work with Peacock.

OP here. Glad to know it isn't just Peacock. We use it on a Roku enabled TV in the house and that's where it's glitchy. What's frustrating is when it throws us out, sometimes repeatedly in the same episode!

I do use it on my laptop at times too (not as an app, streaming directly) and it doesn't have the same issues there. Hmm, maybe it doesn't play well with Roku?

Anyone else?

I had the same issue with Peacock. I use the app with chrome cast on one tv and Roku on another tv..same issue.

We also have issues with Peacock. In our main living room, we have the Xfinity X1 box and it is glitchy there too.

Ugh, looks like I'm not the only one with the issue...No ideas to stop the glitching, anyone? On a Roku enabled TV? I'll put up with it for certain shows for sure but it would be great not to get tossed out mid-show and then havevtobwsitbfor a slow reload that takes us back to the start of the program....

Above: Should be "have to wait for" a slow reload. Apparently I am now glitchy.

I am having audio sync issues with PEacock streaming on LG TV app. I have reboot modem, cable box and tv multiple times and it has done nothing. All PEacock shows are out of sync

Peacock is definitely the glitchiest apps of all the apps we use. We watch it on Roku streaming sticks and the X1 cable box. For us, it definitely buffers for too long of a time.

All the time. Even when I open it, more than half the time it tells me I have no internet, even though the tablet is fine and Netflix and Hulu run without a problem. Then sometimes it just freezes in the middle of a show and I have to restart the app and try to find my place in the show again, waiting through multiple sets of commercials to do so.

Yes- I have the same issue with only Peacock shows on TV - not my speed, not with other streaming services - only Peacock - SO annoying

How are you streaming Peacock? I use a firestick in each of my 4 tvs and have not had any issues. Looks like several of the posters from last year were having issues with a Roku.

No issues ever with fire stick or Apple TV

I'm the OP of this thread from back last year! The streaming issues I had with Peacock did resolve themselves and I haven't had those issues at all for a long time. Get it on our Roku TV, by the way, not Firestick etc. In fact it's now super reliable for me, however....

For a long time now, Amazon has completely sucked (just...doesn't load the "tiles" for shows, only gray boxes, and sometimes rebooting it does not help. Just gray, no images to click on.). Anyone else getting that glitch?

And Hulu will toss us all the way out of a show, then instantly start a different episode of whatever show we're watching. For instance, we're 40 minutes into an episode of something, the screen goes black and the Hulu loading bar pops up, and the next thing we see is a scene in the middle of a different episode of the same series.

Zero issue with our internet or other streaming services or even the free streaming services. It's not us. Peacock's peachy now, at least. The issue is definitely with Amazon and Hulu, especiallly as each has its own very specific glitch that's not like the other's glitch. Ideas, folks?
