I have had Vonage for a really long time. I have family that lives overseas that I talk to often and that was the reason I got it to being with. I use it for international calls (just one country) and mostly as the number for plumber/stores/services. It is now costing about 45 bucks a month.
Since it works off of our internet connection, I was wondering if there are any other cheaper options. My main issue is that I want to keep that number. Is there anything you can suggest or I am not thinking of? |
| Magic Jack, you can port your number. |
This is what we use. |
| Ooma |
| I switched from Vonage to google voice so we could give our 'home phone' number out to people/businesses who we don't want to have our cell phone. Other than that, once we cut the cord, our cells phones have been fine for all calls. Not sure why it took us so long to end the service. Our cell service has international calling that is cheaper as well. |

Google voice.
It’s 100% free. |
+3 - my family and I (3 locations) have Ooma (from the period where you paid $0/month - paid up front) and it's been rock stable. Even with paying taxes only currently (~$5/month), it works as a good deal. Moved same # to 3 states by literally just moving the box. |
