What are Elem Kids doing during Specials?

Currently, my kid's art teacher is showing a video about her dog. What are specials supposed to be like and what are your kids getting during or from them?

Part of me just thinks they need to do core classes, finish by noon, and let the kids be free, but I know that's never going to happen.

FWIW, I have no interest in homeschooling and my kid normally loves specials but he's laying his head on his desk right now.

It isn't easy to transition from in person classes for PE and art to DL. Our art teacher shows a brief slideshow on a type of art or technique. Then she demonstrates it herself or shows a video and then gives students time to work on their own. I think students will upload their finished work to Seesaw (I teach KG) once we get access to it.
