Reputable asynchronous middle school homeschooling program

Anonymous
Can someone recommend a homeschool program for a 6th and 8th grader that is asynchronous and well regarded by area schools? I am looking for something that can be done at their own pace and through one website. The 8th grader will either be going to high school in Fairfax County or applying to privates. We are not sure at this point. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I don't think you can beat Khan Academy. It's free, well known and they have done an excellent job laying out daily plans.

I was with Laural Springs for a few years. I had a good experience with the elementary school. There are due dates on the assignments, so you are not working at your own pace. However, you do have 10 months in a school year.
The teachers were great with feedback and took an interest in how my child was performing.
I still follow their Facebook page; they have very successful students going to well-regarded colleges/universities.

Thank you both for the feedback.

Khan is not a full curriculum yet, unfortunately.

K12, laurel springs and other online or distance courses are well regarded.

We've been happy with Oak Meadow for our rising 8th grader. We don't do every subject through them, but we've been pleased with what we have done, and I could absolutely imagine doing everything through them except Spanish, just because for that I want something live with a teacher and spoken language. So we do Homeschool Spanish Academy.

We left MCPS in June when they failed to present a plan (and spring was terrible). We are now with Laurel Springs but it’s too early to know if it’s better than public Zoom school.

The Keystone School looks good so far -- but my family's still in the early research stage.

We did 8th at GWUOHS and are still there for HS. 10th grade now.

It is rigorous and very structured but flexible if you need it to be. One hour of live class per subject per week. Best done live, but can be done as a recording with exit ticket. Significant work load.

I've heard good things about Veritas Press's program.
