| How often are you and your husband having sex if you're trying to conceive? Also, when you aren't trying to conceive, how often are you having sex? |

| We have sex just about every day, multiple times a day on the weekend. Conceived twice on the first try. |

| We did every other day during ovulation, but given this thread, we are going to try times when we aren't ovulating. I heard people got pregnant then as well. |

First, you have to know when you're ovulating. I ovulate on day 10 or 11, not 14 like the calculators say. I know at least 3 people that have told me they tried for 6-12 months without success, then started tracking ovulation and conceived within 3 months after that. It's not going to work if you're not timing it correctly.
We have sex every day or every other day around ovulation, typically every day since my sex drive is higher then. It's been 2.5 years and have gotten pregnant 3 times, though all have been miscarriages. Point being, more sex won't cure infertility, but mistimed sex will definitely keep you from getting pregnant. |

| My OB/GYN recommended every other day during the week of ovulation. Honestly, only having sex during that week. |

Generally, we're 2-4 times a month people (which we're both happy with) so we def had to ramp it up when we were TTC. I charted (temps, CM, OPKs, the works, read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" for details). I forget what we did the first couple months, but once I had my ovulation "range" (I think it was like day 12-20, it was pretty wide) we had sex every other day starting four or five days before my earliest ovulation time, then when the OPK was positive, we had sex every day up to and including the day after ovulation temp spike, and then one more time the next day or the day after. So on the short end, we'd have sex on days 7, 9, 11, get a positive OPK that day, 12, see the temp spike, 13, then day 14 or 15 for good measure. On long months, it's be days 7,9,11,13,15,17,19, get a positive OPK, 20, see a temp spike, 21, then day 22 or 23.
That was def all the sex we had for the 7 months we were trying. |
