We have finally decided it is time to get a gaming system for our 10 and 13yo kids. PlayStation is the favored platform in their peer groups, so we want that kind. And the VR helmet is also on the wishlist.
DH is going to be on remote assignment this year, so we will get him one too so he can play/ socialize with them. Unfortunately the last game console I had was an Atari. We were given a WII (and still have it) but we’ve only used it a couple of times for a dance game. We accidentally threw the controllers across the room so that was the end of that. I have gone down so many rabbit holes trying to figure out the best way to do this. I know there is a new PS5 coming out, but I don’t know if I should wait for that or just get a PS4 now. What is the best place to buy this type of system- someplace online or Best Buy or Game Stop? Can my DH have an older PS platform and still play with the kids? He doesn’t need a VR helmet. Do the multiplayer VR games need 2 helmets or do they take turns? It seems like that would require a lot of adjusting. Are there any games that are really fun to do remotely? FS really likes Minecraft and Roblox. We haven’t done any 1st person shooter games and would like to avoid those as much as possible. I am probably getting all of these terms wrong, so I hope I am making sense. I would be grateful for any advice! |
