Anyone have names of school in NOVA area that are still accepting application for PK or K?

Just went to K night for my area and was not too impressed. New to forum and wondering if any places in NOVA near McLean, Arlington, Alexandria still accepting applications?

Are you in Arlington? I heard the open house at W & L was a zoo the other night... I would just go on school websites to check.

Yes, I am in Arlington and really would like to consider private/independent schools in the NOVA area. I felt like Arlington elementary schools seems like a bunch of private wannabees with all the transfer applications and lotteries for the 22 elementary schools and the one school that I felt like would be a good fit is not even in my neighborhood so I would have to do this whole application process for the public school. My girlfriend got the same vibe at this thing.. We both left there thinking is this really what K in public school system is like because if so we want something different.

You might try calling Burgundy Farm and Browne Academy.

Here are the deadlines for area schools. I don't know if you'll have time for the wppsi though, or for tours to learn about the schools.

In addition to burgundy and browne you could consider Westminster and congressional.

I am the poster who asked if you live in Arlington. We also live in Arlington but send our kids to St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School in NW DC and we love it. The deadline for apps is this Friday. I am sure if you give the school a call and explain your situation that they will listen.

That said, I have many friends in the public schools who are really happy.

I believe the deadline for Flint Hill in Oakton is tomorrow, Feb 1. It would be a little bit of a scramble but you could probably make it. I'd submit the form electronically and then call to set up the playdate.

I applied to St Charles private Catholic school in Arlington today for K. Thanks for the info.

St John Academy in Mclean would still be accepting applications since they just had their open house last week.
