Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I am new to all of this. The insurance coverage seems so complicated. I just got off the phone with my insurance company and I am still confused as to what is covered and what isn't. A call to Shady Grove did not help matters - they kept telling me to call the insurance coverage. At this point, I have no idea if prescriptions are covered under the medical portion or the pharmacy portion. The insurance company didn't even know if it was covered under the medical portion (they aren't under the pharmacy plan).
Can anyone recommend a specific person at Shady Grove in Rockville that is savvy on insurance matters or has advice on UHC Optimum choice coverage? |

Hmm- when I was a patient at Shady Grove, they assigned me to a Financial Coordinator, who worked with the insurance. I would call Shady Grove again and ask to be connected with the Financial Coordinator who works with UHC Optimum insurance.
Are you already a patient at SG? At my first consult, they had me meet with the Financial Coordinator after the RE. |
| No - I am not a patient at SG yet. i just wanted to get all my insurance stuff in order before my initial consultation. |
| The Financial Coordinators at Shady Grove work with all insurance companies. It's the billing people who are specific to the various insurance companies. The Rockville Financial Coordinators are Maisy and Reinette. Both are great, so just ask to speak to whichever one is available. |

Once you go for your consult they will straighten it out for you. SG was awesome for me in resolving ALL insurance issues. I had similar experiences calling myself.
If memory serves the consult was a few hundred dollars so it won't break the bank even if you have issues getting that paid. Also I'm not sure about your insurance, I had BCBS and each companies policy is different. |
