Almost 43 yo, what are my odds?

Anonymous
I know there was a thread on this, but I can't find it.

I am almost 43. Had my 1st when I was 39 after a couple IUI rounds. I have PCOS and a decent FSH. We want to try again, but we are so nervous about my older eggs and the risk for having a child with special needs. We decided we don't want to go the donor egg route so basically IUI and one round of IVF and then we are done.

I'd love to hear stories from those at my age who had a healthy child in their mid 40's.

Thanks!

I don't have a story to share but I'd just say I think you should be aggressive. It sounds like you already have an RE and a plan for what you want to try, so I would get started asap. Maybe check out an online forum for ttc/pregnancy in your forties. I'm on fertility friend and there's a pretty active 40's TTC board there (and a 40's pregnancy board, so that alone is encouraging!)

Good luck!
