Food allergy preschools in Arlington

Anonymous
Hello! We are moving to North Arlington this summer and I'm looking to find a preschool that is nut-free and has experience dealing with food allergies for my severely food allergic 3 year DD. Hoping for any suggestions

Thank you!!!

Mount olivet is nut free. At least one teacher there has a child with a nut allergy and the staff does PMAT epipen training every two years.

I think you will find most preschools are all nut free. They however can't guarantee other allergens like eggs and milk in the food they serve. My son has nut and egg allergies and nuts won't be a problem because his school doesn't allow them but if you go to a place that provides lunch, eggs and other allergens are a bit trickier. The best they can do is provide you with a menu so you know in advance what they are serving and if you think there's a problem with one of the lunches, you simply don't allow your child to eat it. In a larger school, it's probably harder to find out specifically if the noodles for example are egg free. A smaller setting might have the labels but I assume most places won't. We are starting my son at a preschool next month so it will be interesting to see how we handle the lunch menu and hope we won't have to provide food all the time. I think we are lucky too that his allergies aren't too severe (at least to the eggs ) so if he accidentally ate something made with eggs at most he would probably get a contact reaction. We do have an epi pen.

Our preschool (Westover Baptist) is not nut-free. Kids each lunch in their own classrooms and it is done on a class by class basis as to what can be eaten in the class.

I also disagree about the nut-free comment. I send peanut butter sandwiches to school all the time. I believe like Westover Baptist it is a case by case basis. OP if your child's allergy is severe, I would speak with the school's director to confirm the school's policy.

Most of the North Arlington preschool openhouses will start at the end of the month.
