Big screen tv or projector?

I want a home cinema, total budget closer to 700$ than 1500$. I could go for a 55/65 inch tv but I am really attracted to idea of projector and screen.

Have you done that and are you happy? And did you go for super quality projector or reasonably good outcome with a 500$ projector? We don’t have a tv and would use it to watch movies or tv shows in evening so in general ambient light is not an issue

The problems with projectors are always noise and getting something bright enough.

Projector only good if you can completely block out the light in the room. Otherwise go TV.
