Acceptable to get blond highlights in winter? please excuse my stupidity

Anonymous
I am a natural blond - and when I look in the mirror, at 33, my hair looks the same to me as when I was in high school. But I recently saw a video of myself (we have a toddler so we take those from time to time to capture adorable moments) and I was horrified - my hair looked brown.

I can get blond highlights in the winter right? Just tell my hair guy I don't want to overdue it and get something subtle to lighten up?

Thanks for any info!

Yep, just tell him to make them subtle.

And not a stupid question--I was at the mall once and heard a college girl ask her friend if it was okay to wear sunglasses in the winter.

Note that on video you can look quite different depending on the lighting. I would trust the mirror first. If you like that color, then why change it?

Yes! A good colorist will incorporate lowlights as well, so it looks natural. I would be dreary, mousy brown without my highlights.

Always a good idea to vary the haircolor between fall/winter and spring/summer due to sunlight intensity as well as your clothing colors.

Now THAT is a stupid question, PP. I hope to God the girl manages to graduate.
