How long after EWCM does ovulation occur?

Anonymous
I'm not temping but I do monitor CM very closely, so how long after seeing EWCM does ovulation typically occur? I get EWCM for 1 day, might get it for 2 days some cycles. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

No one really knows and it probably depends somewhat on age. I'd assume for planning purposes that it's no more than 3. Basically, you should be doing the deed as soon as you see EWCM.

It honestly doesn’t mean anything and isn’t a good way to track. I go some months with EWCM multiple random days and don’t end up ovulating. You’re better off temping.

I actually believe EWCM is the most powerful way of tracking fertility. Simply bc it's the only external sign you get ahead of ovulation. Temping is no doubt useful but only tells you once ovulation has taken place already.

I wonder this too. My EWCM shows up around day 10/11, but according to the OPKs I don't ovulate until days later.

TMI, but I get LOADS of EWCM. Like dripping out during bathroom breaks. Maybe this month I'll go by that, and not the OPKs.

I treat EWCM as the primary sign of fertility. Simply bc humans haven't evolved with the technology to temp and do ovulation tests, and so we have evolved to rely on on EWCM. I would treat EWCM days as peak fertility days. I do wonder when ovulation actually occurs after it though.

I do agree, even though my EWCM shows up 3-4 days before I get a positive OPK, which means I ovulate a day after that.
