Is the Sidwell parent interview really optional?

Just read the Beauvoir post and it made me wonder whether the Sidwell parent interview is really optional or is it encouraged?

Does Sidwell require a parent interview?

I was under the impression it was just the WPPSI, the playdate, letters of recommendation, and the two-part application process.

May depend on the grade. When we did it I thought the interview was mandatory for K.

When we applied for k for fall 2009 it was mandatory. I think it is stupid as they ask the same things that the application and statement require!
